Dr Elisheva Cohen is a scholar of education in emergencies. Her research draws on qualitative methods to examine educators’ experiences in a range of crises including refugee settings and global pandemics. Since September 2021, she has been supporting Afghan evacuees living at Camp Atterbury in Indiana through a range of activities including fundraising, distribution of educational resources, teaching cultural orientation courses, and running a volunteer program for over 80 Indiana University student.
