What they do

Livox is an alternative communication software available for Android tablets. Besides enabling non-verbal people with disabilities to communicate, it is also being extensively used in schools to help not only people with disabilities but also people with learning impairments to learn how to read, wright and learn complex concepts at school. Livox has advanced algorithms that makes it adjust to a wide range of disabilities. Livox also crowd sources the creation of educational contents and provides tools for teachers and professionals to evaluate the user’s improvement over time.

Why it matters

Millions of people with disabilities are non-verbal. The ability to communicate is fundamental to thrive in society. Many people with disabilities such as cerebral palsy, autism and dementia experience complex communication challenges. Access to communication is foundational for individuals with disabilities. Without it, people experience poor school and post-school outcomes, increased risk of abuse and neglect, challenging behaviors and low workforce participation.

Traction so far

Currently Livox is being used by over 25,000 people with disabilities or learning impairments in 10 countries. The software is fully available now in Portuguese, English, Spanish, French and Arabic. Livox main focus is to introduce its solution in schools where students with disabilities or learning impairments use it to communicate and access educational content that they wouldn’t have accessed in other forms. Over 25,000 learners and teachers benefited from Livox.
