Education for Sharing’s (E4S) mission is to form better citizens from childhood through innovative education programs based on the power of play and physical activity. Our vision for Education for Sharing is to become an integral part of school communities globally.
E4S works in versatile contexts, where the following issues are a common threat:
E4S model is based on the power of play, as an effective mechanism of dialogue between teachers and students. E4S connects current challenges with the syllabus of schools using Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) as a reference. It uses a play-reflect-act framework that encourages educators to teach dynamically and to promote children’s participation. The overall teachers’ experience includes informative sessions, training given by local facilitators of E4S operative team and Implementation of play sessions with the students. Teachers have the ability to make any adjustment of the model according to their context; they delimit the activities that will potentiate the skills of their students. Teachers consider that E4S provided them with the skills and tools to plan and structure their classes. After one and a half year of E4S intervention, teachers noticed that the reflective capacity of girls and boys had improved. 90% of teachers believe that E4S changed the way students learn science.
E4S team is working on a specialized training for early childhood educators. Its objective will be oriented to promote socioemotional and cognitive development for children between 3 to 6 years.
