About the Project

The Institute of Technology and Higher Education of Monterrey (ITESM) in conjunction with the Social Development Ministry of the Mexican Government, State and Local governments, enterprises, and nonprofit organizations created the “Centros Comunitarios de Aprendizaje” (Community Learning Centers – CCA) in 2001 in Monterrey, Mexico.
The project operates in rural areas, semi-rural areas and urban areas, where the participants access educational programs through technology, and interact with alumni and experts of ITESM who take on the role of mentors and tutors in the learning process. The educational programs that are offered in the CCA are designed for all the members of the community, including children, teenagers, and adults.
