About the Project

Eastwood College strives to deliver a child-centric educational model that stimulates and nourishes the intellectual, physical, and artistic needs of each student, and encourages him or her to be self-reliant and inquisitive. The College has worked to digitize the classroom in order for students of all socio-economic backgrounds to be able to learn and access quality education equally for a minimal cost. Eastwood College has started the digital process by creating iTunes U courses for all subjects from Grades 5 to 12 and is increasing the number of courses to further help children from Grades 1 through Grades 12.

The digital process begins with understanding the needs and focus of each sector of schooling that are required to take the child to higher education to obtain further qualifications in order to compete in the current workplace environment globally.  Eastwood College is beginning to record most lessons, which last about 20 minutes each. The flipped classroom is a form of blended learning which encompasses any use of technology to leverage the learning in a classroom so a teacher can spend more time interacting with students instead of lecturing. This is most commonly done by using teacher-created videos that students view outside of class time.
