Dr Wald leads research into accessible technologies at the University of Southampton and has advised governmental organizations and universities on enhancing learning through the use of technologies. He has taught students of all ages, abilities and disabilities and also helped establish and develop learning support services and technologies at Southampton and many other universities, directly benefiting the learning experiences of many thousands of students. He has worked closely with many international colleagues to develop Synote, which uses speech recognition to transform learning for all students and which is being used by universities, colleges and schools in many countries.
