Carlos Dreves, Executive Director of the AraucaníAprende Foundation, leads the Reading Rescue program which in 2009 was recognized as the main innovation initiative for education in Chile. He has designed and led many regional and national educational programs for the Ministry of Education, the World Bank Institute, the European Economic Community and companies such as Intel and Oracle. He has been a World Bank consultant giving educational support to other Latin American countries. He is a psychologist and has trained teachers and psychologists at different universities. He is married, has two children and his main efforts for the past 18 years have been focused on working at schools for poor children in his place of birth.
