Edgar Stach, Associate Professor at the University of Tennessee’s College of Architecture and Design, previously taught at the Bauhaus University Weimar in Germany. His current research focusses on new construction materials and methods. The founder of UTZero, a team developing zero-energy building technologies, and Director of the Institute for Smart Structures, he is also a leader of the Solar Decathlon Living Light team 2011. A recipient of the 2008 American Institute of Architects award for inno¬vative teaching and UT’s 2009 Cox Professorship award, he has over 40 scientific and technical publications to his credit. He founded an architectural practice in 1995 in Weimar, Germany, and in 1999 in Knoxville, Tennessee.
