Vanessa Umutoni is a leader in driving innovative tech programs and product development. Currently working at the Mastercard Foundation, Center for Innovative Teaching and Learning in ICT, Vanessa leads a regional entrepreneurship program that targets EdTech start-ups by supporting them to implement and scale their solutions.

Prior to this, Vanessa worked as a lead product manager in payments and financial technologies. She also served as the Vice president of Girls in ICT Rwanda from 2014 to 2020 where she was responsible for driving the organization’s signature program “Ms. Geek Africa.” Vanessa also holds a Master of Science degree in Information Technology from Carnegie Mellon University.
