Marc Prensky is an internationally acclaimed\u00a0speaker and education consultant. Known as a \u2018practical visionary\u2019 and coiner of the terms \u2018digital native\u2019\u00a0and \u2018digital immigrant,\u2019 Marc has authored seven books and spoken in over 40 countries. He has published over 100 articles and essays in publications including\u00a0Educational Leadership, Educause, Edutopia, and Educational Technology.\u00a0His writings have been translated into 11 languages.<\/p>\n
Marc\u2019s 2010 book,\u00a0Teaching Digital Natives,\u00a0is a best-seller among educators around the world. His more recent books include\u00a0From Digital Natives to Digital Wisdom\u00a0(2012),\u00a0The World Needs a New Curriculum\u00a0(2015),\u00a0and\u00a0Education to Better Their World: Unleashing the Power of 21st\u00a0Century Kids\u00a0(Teachers College Press, 2016).<\/p>\n
Marc is\u00a0the Founder and current Executive Director of the\u00a0Global Future Education Foundation and Institute.\u00a0His focus is on moving education away from pure academics and intellectual development to a new and more appropriate combination of effective thinking, effective action, effective relationships and especially effective accomplishment toward improving the students\u2019 (and our) real world.<\/p>\n
Marc has taught at all levels, and has been featured in\u00a0The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal\u00a0and\u00a0The Economist, appeared on CNN, MSNBC, PBS and the BBC.
