Kiran Bir Sethi is an Indian designer, educationist, education reformer, and social entrepreneur. With a degree in visual communication from the National Institute of Design, Ahmedabad, she began her career designing restaurants, and later,\u00a0 writing for newspapers. While she had always been interested in design thinking\u00a0 and designing experiences, it was when her children started going to school that Sethi recognised her true calling.<\/p>\n
Dismayed by the unfriendly and rigid atmosphere in schools, she set up The Riverside School in Ahmedabad, followed by aProCh, and finally Design for\u00a0 Change which is today the largest movement of change \u2013 for and by the\u00a0 children.<\/p>\n
Over the years, Kiran, Riverside and Design for Change have won several accolades and Awards. Some of the recent ones are: The Earth Prize, the\u00a0 Rockefeller Innovation Award, The Lego Reimagine Award, The Lexus prize, and\u00a0 the Light of Freedom Award.<\/p>\n
Born in Bangalore, India, Sethi comes from a family of designers. She lives in\u00a0 Ahmedabad with her 2 children, Raag and Jazz and her husband, Geet.
