Deborah is an international education professional with extensive experience designing and implementing education-focused programs for developing and humanitarian contexts to bring high quality learning opportunities to children around the globe. At Sesame Workshop, the non-profit educational and media organization behind\u00a0Sesame Street<\/i>, Deborah manages education programs to provide impactful early learning through a broad variety of media as well as targeted international social impact initiatives that address a wide range of critical issues facing children and families.<\/p>\n
Deborah leads multimedia and print content creation, early childhood curriculum development, and play-based program design for\u00a0Play to Learn<\/i>, an innovative humanitarian program that harnesses the power of play to deliver critical early learning to children and caregivers affected by the Rohingya and Syrian refugee crises. Most recently, Deborah led the launch of Sesame Workshop International Social Impact\u2019s COVID-19 Response Effort.<\/p>\n
Previously, Deborah supported national curriculum development initiatives; managed public health education and language learning programs; and led capacity building opportunities for teachers. She has consultancy experience working with Deutsche Gesellschaft f\u00fcr Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ), the U.S. Department of State\u2019s English Language Programs, and the USAID-Funded Foundation for the Autonomy and the Development of the Atlantic Caribbean Coast of Nicaragua\u2019s\u00a0EduExito<\/i>\u00a0program. Deborah proudly served as a Peace Corps education specialist on the Caribbean coast of Nicaragua.<\/p>\n
