Since 2013, Azi Amiri has worked as an Educator and Teaching Artist at The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, where she designs and leads workshops that connect art with education, personal growth, and accessibility. At The Met, she also leads professional training workshops that support New York teachers in using museum objects to teach curriculum-related topics in meaningful and engaging ways.

Beginning in 2017, she joined a partnership collaboration between The Met and the Qatar Foundation International (QFI), using art to support Arabic language learning at PS 261 in New York. Through this innovative program, she helps teachers and students explore how works of art can enhance cultural understanding while strengthening language skills.

In addition to her museum work, Azi is a full-time faculty member at Passaic County Community College in New Jersey, where she teaches art and art history. She is committed to making art accessible to all, whether in the classroom, museum galleries, or community settings.

Azi was among five teaching artists and museum educators selected to co-author Art and Well-Being: A Guide for Educators, a free resource published by The Met that helps teachers use artworks to foster social-emotional, physical, and cognitive development in the classroom.
