Ebenezer Buckman

Ashesi University, Chief of Staff

 

Ebenezer Buckman is a higher education communications professional with over a decade of experience driving institutional growth, fundraising, and reputation-building across the African continent. Since joining Ashesi University in 2011, he has played a central role in shaping the university’s communications, alumni relations, and global advancement strategies, helping Ashesi emerge as a model for African-led innovation in higher education.  

In his current role, he leads strategic communications and supports advancement efforts, working across fundraising, stakeholder engagement, and thought leadership to support Ashesi’s vision for its third decade. He also works closely with the Ashesi University Foundation on global partnerships and philanthropy, and has helped steward the university’s evolution—from launching new academic programs and infrastructure, to strengthening a growing alumni network.  

Previously, he served as Special Assistant to the University President and Director of External Relations, helping guide key institutional initiatives and serving as Secretary to Ashesi’s Board of Directors.  

Ebenezer holds a bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems from Ashesi University, and a master’s degree in Corporate Communication from IE Business School. He brings to the WISE Summit a passion for storytelling and African thought leadership.
