Md. Shahidul Islam serves as the Deputy Director and Head of Education for Dhaka Ahsania Mission (DAM). He holds a Master’s in Geography and Environmental Science from Rajshahi University with a focus on management and community development.

He is the innovator of DAM’s Ganokendra, a community-driven model for non-formal education. He is also a core creator of DAM’s multi-grade teaching learning (MGTL) approach for out of school children (OOSC). This MGTL approach has been accepted by the Government of Bangladesh.
