Cascos Verdes is the only institution in Argentina that provides PID (People with Intellectual Disabilities) with the opportunity to attend university and study an academic program adapted to their educational needs.
The organization focuses on the importance of providing PID with tools that contribute to their independence and transition into adulthood. Through Cascos Verdes, PID are given the chance to actively participate in spaces that are commonly restricted to them; this enhances their cognitive skills and social abilities; it also builds self-confidence, camaraderie and promotes team work. Cascos Verdes also addresses the need to spread the environmental care message within the Argentine society. Trainings focus on the garbage separation process and the 3Rs, which are still not installed habits in the Argentine society.
