Since LOYAC was founded in 2002, it has been working on creating purpose and vocational awareness among youth in the age group of 6 to 30 years. The LOYAC Summer Program is unique as it links community service and paid internships for students. Starting in 2013, all participating students were provided with a free workskills workshop, which helped them prepare for their future job experience. In addition, students particiated in “Youth Initiatives” which enabled them to work on creative projects which were funded by LOYAC.
The project aims to keep young people busy in summer by offering them opportunities in the public and private sector. The long-term objective of the program is to empower young people by making them employable and getting them involved in society through community service. Over the years, LOYAC has helped many students to secure jobs in the companies where they were placed by LOYAC and even in other companies. Many students have opened their own businesses and become independent. The Summer Program has grown over the years. It was the first program to create a platform where students can get paid jobs with a mix of community development projects. The idea behind it is to support young people by offering them opportunities to keep them busy in the summer. The program aims to teach skills which increase employability
