Craig Bateman is an undergraduate philosophy and politics student at St Chad’s College, Durham where he is currently writing his dissertation on the effects of social media on liberal democracy. Craig has recently founded a new student group at Durham Students’ Union called Model Westminster Society that aims to empower student voice in social policy making and contribute towards the development of civil society in the North East. This builds on his sixteen years in the voluntary sector, having occupied a number of roles within different charities and community organisations since the age of 5.
Craig currently serves as a member of the Management Committee at Kidderminster and District Youth Trust, is a #iWill Ambassador to the Cabinet-Office- supported Step up to Serve campaign, and leads the universities programme of Model Westminster Ltd.
