Charles Autheman is the managing director of Labo des histoires, a non-profit providing free creative writing programs to French children, teens, and young adults. He participated in setting up the Labo des histoires in 2011 and, after serving as a board member, took his current position in 2014.

Under his stewardship, the Labo des histoires has grown from a local non-profit operating in Paris and its vicinities to a national organization with 12 regional centers, 3 of which are located in overseas territories: Martinique, French Guiana, and Réunion.
