David Calvo is the Principal at Los Angeles Academy of Arts and Enterprise. David is committed to the ideals of equitable public education and is a student-centered education practitioner with 25 years of experience, predominantly serving minority student populations. Like most of his students, he is a first-generation college student. David entered public education as a teacher’s assistant; he has since led multiple schools across the PK-12 continuum, in five of the top ten largest school districts in the United States. David earned a bachelor’s degree in public administration, a master’s degree in educational leadership, and is currently a doctoral candidate in education.
