Louise Albertyn graduated with a Post Graduate Certificate in Education from the University of Cape Town in 2007, after completing a Bachelor of Social Sciences in English and Psychology. She went on to teach English at Rustenburg High School for Girls in Cape Town for five years. During this time she also worked for the Western Cape Education Department as a national marker of the Grade 12 Final Examinations. In 2013 Louise joined the Bertha Centre for Social Innovation and Entrepreneurship, a specialised unit of UCT’s Graduate School of Business, in the role of Project Coordinator in the Education Innovations Initiative. This initiative works to improve education outcomes in low-income communities from ‘cradle to career’. She co-authored the first South African Education Innovator’s Review in 2015.
